Beach volleyball is a sport that is widely enjoyed as a professional sport, Olympic sport and for recreational fun. With the the right amount of space, you can build your own beach volleyball court that complies with official measurements. One of the most important components of a volleyball court is the net, which is attached to two poles on either side of the center of the court. Use PVC pipe or steel poles to make your own beach volleyball poles.

InstructionsMeasure out your volleyball court to determine the location of your poles. The poles will sit directly in the center line, on either side of your court. The typical court measures 29'-6" wide by 59'-0" long. Make sure you account for the boundary lines as well --- you should have at least 10' on all sides.

Dig the holes for your volleyball poles. You must excavate to a depth of 3 feet or more, depending on the location of your volleyball court. If your court is located in a Northern climate, check with local building codes to find out how deep you have to dig to go below the frost line.

Set the poles into their respective holes, and attach restraints so that the posts cannot move while you put the concrete in the hole. The restraints will ensure that the poles will stay straight until the concrete has dried.

Mix up your concrete as per the manufacturer's instructions. You can buy concrete and mix it yourself or purchase pre-mixed concrete specifically designed for setting poles.

Fill the holes completely with your concrete, and spread uniformly using a trowel. Let the concrete sit until it is perfectly dry before attaching your net.
